Steven L. Smith, President Mr. Smith has thirty (30) years of electronics experience and twenty five (25) years of voice and data communications experience. Mr. Smith is responsible for the successful design and implementation of over 100 Local Area Networks and associated systems. From large installations, consisting of more than 500 nodes, to installations of fewer than 50 nodes, Mr. Smith has developed a reputation for innovation and quality service. Prior to founding NetSmith, Mr. Smith's clients included the Department of Energy, Westinghouse, Eastman Kodak, Digital Equipment, Crestar Bank, Prudential Home Mortgage, and Carolina Power and Light. Mr. Smith has also established several helpdesk operations and maintenance support operations for clients. These operations provided for user hotline support, system development, software support, and maintenance services. Mr. Smith has provided consulting services for high-speed and wide-area network services at the Department of Energy, Eastman Kodak and several local companies. Mr. Smith was a member of Digital Equipment's on-site engineering and projects team for Eastman Kodak, developing high-speed network backbone solutions and wide-area network communication systems. During the mid-1990s Mr. Smith provided project management services for a major systems integrator in the greater Washington DC and Baltimore, MD area. Mr. Smith also enjoyed success as the Technical Services Manager for a Baltimore, Maryland engineering group, building a service business that is considered one of the best in the area.
Cheryl G. Smith, Vice President, Information Management
Ms. Smith has over 30 years of experience in records and information management, quality assurance, and program management, supporting a variety of Federal government and private industry clients. She is a Certified Records Manager (CRM), proficient in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining records management and document control systems. She specializes in evaluating records management programs and developing procedures to ensure compliance with programmatic, regulatory, and legal requirements. She has recently led major initiatives to revamp enterprise-wide records retention schedules for Federal government clients. She is also experienced in supporting nuclear quality assurance (QA) programs, quality assessments and audits, and QA procedures development. She has supported government programs in the formulation of performance-based budgets, program execution, tracking and reporting on performance commitments, and program evaluation. She is a skilled writer of technical reports, plans and procedures, public relations documents, briefings, and other written communications. Cheryl Smith is a Certified Records Manager (CRM), holds an M.S. in Library Science, and brings 30+ years of records consulting experience encompassing full lifecycle hard copy and electronic management issues. Since 2002, Cheryl Smith has helped guide the enterprise-wide implementation of the Electronic Records Management System at the U.S Government Accountablity Office; and previously provided records services to the nuclear industry and many litigation support projects.
